My dad and I went to Lake Erie last year for some jumbo perch. The bait shop was AGAIN out of emerald shiners, so we decided to attach a Lil' Bit to our hooks instead. We limited out within an hour or two, so we then decided to go just off shore and cast for smallmouth. Easily landed 50+ big smallies that day. I'll post another picture of one of his samllies.
